Playing bingo twice a day might seem a little obsessive to some of us, but not for a seventy-five year old pensioner who has been doing just that for the past eight years. This kind of perseverance has finally paid off for the lucky Carlisle winner who recently walked away from her favorite bingo club more than £19 000 richer.
Whilst playing with her daughter at the Rex Club in Denton Holme, she took the National Bingo prize of £17 255, the Regional prize of £1 999 and the house prize of £101, all in all making her £19 355 richer. It might have been more as the National Prize that day was for £34 510, however she had to share the prize with a fellow bingo lover in Wales who also called bingo in forty numbers. The Manager of the Rex bingo club said that the winner was very calm when it was announced what she had won and she really took it in her stride. The club normally has a closing time of 9pm, but everyone stayed late to hear the results of the win being announced and once the suspense was over, every one cheered and shouted their congratulations.
