A sixty-eight year old pensioner from Felixstowe who recently won more than £11 000 whilst playing the national Bingo's Afternoon Delight game in her local bingo hall, the Palace Club in Crescent Road, says that she can't believe she had won, and she won't believe it until she has the cheque in her hand. She is utterly amazed by her luck as she says she has never won anything before.
The woman who is widowed and has one child, a son, won the National Bingo Game prize of £10 640, the Regional prize of £1 000 together with a house prize of £100, giving her a total of £11 660 in prize money. She says that she was sweating and shaking at the news that she had won and couldn't play properly afterwards. She completed her winning full house in forty-one calls. She plays bingo at the Palace Club once a week but has been playing bingo for many years; she has only been a member of the Palace for a year and plays there with a crowd of friends. She says that her son has told her to buy something for herself with the prize money, but she can't think of anything she wants.
