We have seen quite a bit in the press recently regarding crime in bingo clubs and crimes committed by bingo playing partners, but this one really takes the cake. Dian Jones aged forty-eight recently plead guilty to theft in the Cardiff Crown Court after staling money from her dead bingo playing partner's bank account. I mean, how low can you go? She escaped going to jail by the skin of her teeth when the Judge told her that she would be like a fish out of water in prison.
Instead, he ordered her to repay the £1 570 that she has remove from Maureen Board's account after she died and pay £300 in compensation to Mrs. Board's estate. She was also ordered to maintain a three month 7pm to 7am curfew, as well as a 12 month community order. Mrs. Jones, from Pentrych, Cardiff had been given Mrs. Boards card and pin number before her death in order to draw money to play bingo, but has continued to use the card to draw cash after her death. Judge Nicholas Cooke QC told her that she should be thoroughly ashamed of herself. Quite rightly too!
