A pensioners club has been very hard hit after thieves made of with their bingo calling equipment. This has been the fourth break in at the Parkfields Leisure Club in Wolverhampton in less than a week. The fifty five year old leas holder, Paul Hickman has had enough and is on the brink of quitting.
Members at this over fifties club had to forego their regular bingo game after the raid and with more than 60 pensioners enjoying a game of calling the numbers, a great deal of people went home disappointed. They normally play this bingo games every Wednesday. However, the microphone, two amplifiers, three speakers and two CD players were taken along with an amount of beer and spirits. The secretary of the club, Margaret Simpkins said that there is nothing much for pensioners to do in the area. They really do look forward to their weekly game of bingo. They really don't want to disappoint them by stopping playing bingo, but they just don't know what to do about all the break ins and thefts from the club. To get into the premises the thieves knocked a three foot hole through the wall. I don't know what is the world coming to when a group of pensioners can't have their weekly bingo game because of a bunch of thugs who think that they have the right to help themselves to whatever they want. I do hope that the police catch whoever is responsible.
