Online Bingo Site Enters Smoking Ban Debate

An online bingo site has entered the debate surrounding the closure and loss of business revenue for land based bingo clubs due to the smoking ban. Bingo Times conducted a survey on its site and found that if UK bingo halls were to operate as prisons, parks, hospices and theatre then bingo players would be free to smoke.

Now this may not make sense, but Bingo Times found that a staggering 75% of local bingo players said their clubs had become quieter after the smoking ban.

The editor of Bingo Times, Holly Emblem said that they were actually shocked by the results from their survey. This caused them to conduct some research into the smoking ban, and from this they have determined some loopholes for bingo players wanting to try to dodge the ban. Apparently performers are able to smoke if the ban affects their "artistic integrity" much like Johnny Depp is always seen smoking during interviews. Bingo Times suggested that players persuade their local bingo club to put on "All smoking productions of Oliver" J They also suggested that bingo should be played in a park, as the ban only applies to "premises that have a roof or a ceiling". Apparently tobacconists are also allowed to let customers sample their wares, so maybe bingo clubs should start selling tobacco and allow members to sample the products. There were quite a few tongue in cheek ways of dodging the smoking ban suggested by Bingo Times, but it is highly unlikely that any of these will have much merit placed on them. They are however highly amusing.
